Chelsey + Joe | Oklahoma City wedding

She spends her days helping children find their words and use them to effect change. She’s the most no-nonsense and unfazed by severe conditions speech pathologist I’ve ever known and she has an amazing ability to connect on a meaningful level with however much or little her kids offer back. She’s kind, forgiving, easy going, and brilliant. And she just so happens to be one of the most beautiful brides I’ve photographed.  Congratulations Chelsey and Joe! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness! See on the front lines. (-;

A home of light | contemporary family portraiture

Somehow good fortune has given me the pleasure of watching the lovely Honarmandan family grow, even though they live 1300 miles away: from baby Jian’s newborn session six years ago, to their stunning family studio session still as a family of three, and now made four with the adorable and practically edible Milan.

This time at Negar and Nima’s home in Newmarket, Ontario, we were immersed in coziness. We felt everything from the peaceful calm of clean lines and serene ambiance to the boisterous billowing of laughter and squeals of delight echoing through the corridors. I was reminded of this favorite Baha’i passage:

“My home is the home of peace. My home is the home of joy and delight. My home is the home of laughter and exultation.
Whosoever enters through the portals of this home, must go out with gladsome heart.
This is the home of light; whosoever enters here must become illumined.”
